Who We Are

Kaleidoscope Kids Preschool is a ministry of Portage Chapel Hill Church. Kaleidoscope Kids was established to meet the needs of families in the Kalamazoo/Portage area by providing quality, affordable preschool and childcare that puts value on each student’s individual identity. Students will be taught in a Progressive Christian environment, celebrating the creative diversity God offers in the fullness of humankind. We offer programs for 3 and 4-year-olds from morning only preschool to full-day childcare.

Portage Chapel Hill Church is excited to offer the community “Kaleidoscope Kids,” a program of early childhood education with preschool for 3- and 4 year-olds.  Kaleidoscope Kids, which opened its doors in fall of 2021, is centered in progressive Christian values and tenets.  Our primary purpose is to provide high-quality early childhood education in service to children and their families.  On that journey of education children will be offered opportunities to meet Jesus through Chapel Hill Church pastors, staff, and lay volunteers.  Progressive Christianity honors the absolute freedom of God to be discovered in the wonderful diversity of the world, in places like:

-       Scripture read, not literally, but with joyful seriousness

-       Story and song

-       Time in the natural world

-       Celebrating the creative diversity God offers in the fullness of humankind.

-  Practicing peace and seeking social justice
