Kaleidoscope Grief Center is a nonprofit organization serving critically ill and grieving children, teens, and their families through their life changing grief journey. Kaleidoscope services and programs are provided regardless of ability to pay.

Our Kaleidoscope of Caring Services:

Peer Support Bereavement Groups
For ages 5—18  and adult caregivers

Expressing feelings in a safe place is part of the healing process after a death. It is the foundation of the work done in the peer support groups. Peer groups are age appropriate. Groups are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at the Kaleidoscope office. The groups are led by trained and supervised volunteers.  Our training reflects the gently caring and personable environment Kaleidoscope offers everyone who comes to be helped…a concept of emotional safety.  It respects the emotional, intellectual, and spiritual demands made on the volunteers.

Camp Healing Hearts Grief Camp
For children, teens, ages 5—18 and adult caregivers
Camp Healing Hearts is a family oriented camp
for children, teens, and their families affected by grief due to the death of a loved one. Grief can be a very isolating experience, particularly for children.  Camp Healing Hearts provides a safe environment where families can  reflect, reconnect, and rediscover while leading to a healing of the heart.

Supportive Care
For ages birth through 18 years with a life-limiting or terminal illness and for families dealing with the impending death of a loved one .

Our staff provides psychosocial and emotional support during the cure seeking phase, the active treatment phase, the long term remission phase, and the potential end-of-life phase.  Kaleidoscope is here to support your child and your family every step of the way.

Individual Grief/Bereavement Counseling
One-on-one grief and bereavement counseling with a licensed therapist for those impacted by death and dying issues.

Narrative & Music Therapy
For ages 5-18
Ed Buckner, a Kaleidoscope Grief Center Board Member, working with a grieving child takes their story and puts that story to music and song.

Kaleidoscope Kids Club
For ages 5—18 years.
These social events are held quarterly and are chaperoned by staff and volunteers. These events allow opportunities for fun when sadness seems to prevail. It is open to any child or teen who is or has been a member of any of our programs.

Professional Training & Community Education
Available to the public upon request.
Our professional staff offers:  information and training on end of life issues, the needs of grieving children, and how to help grieving children better cope with their loss.
